Favorite Moment as a High School Student

Image
I think my favorite part as a high school student was ninth grade because I was worry free. I would not have to worry about college application or important test like the ACT or SAT. Sophomore year was like freshman year but having to worry about my grades because colleges start looking at your grades but even then that year was stress free. And lastly I think going to the northern trip because for those day I did not have to worry about anything and I got to see colleges. In addition I was with my friends having fun and eating.

Favorite Moment as a Senior

I think my favorite moment as a senior is getting out of high school and going to College. It will also be when I graduate high school and give my certificate to both of my parents and knowing that they are proud of me.

Favorite Moment in Class

My Favorite moment as a member of this call was the stock market simulation. This simulation was able to give me a real life sense of how the stock market works. We were compete against other classmates to see who was gaining more money. We would get graded based the place we were in for example my group for the most time we were in third place which made us get a two. In addition, this simulation was my favorite moment in class because we did not had to take a test or notes but we were able to learn about stocks and the stock symbol.

Third Topic: The Electoral College

Image
The third topic that interest me the most was the Electoral College. Electoral College is a group of electors from each state that indirectly elect the president and Vice President. Electors are a set of people chosen by political and state parties. Legislatures vote in the presidential election for the major candidates. The Popular Vote are votes casted by the general public counting the numbers of votes obtained nationally for each candidate. In fact, sometimes its possible to lose the popular vote, and still became president. Winner take all systems is a system where a candidate who wins the majority of the popular votes in the states wins all of the electoral votes from that state. Electoral College is a process. The founding fathers established it in Article II of the Constitution in a way so we can elect our president. There are 538 electors in the electoral college. 270 is the number to reach to win presidency.        This unit was...

Second Topic: Federalism

Image
The second topic that was investing to me was Federalism. Federalism is a government system where authority is divided between two sovereign levels of government. There are three governments the federal, state, and local government. There is a separation of power between the National Government which is also the Federal Government and the State Government. There are three types of Federalism. The dual Federalism, Cooperative Federalism, and Fiscal Federalism. Dual Federalism is the idea that a precise Separation of National and State Power was both possible and desirable and was called the "Layer Cake Federalism." Cooperative Federalism is the National, State, and Local levels to work together to solve problems, which is called "Marble Cake" Federalism powers. In addition the Constitution divides powers into three different levels of government. There are three categories the Expressed Powers, Reserved Powers, and Concurrent Powers. Expressed powers are give...

First Topic: The Constitution

Image
The first topic that interested me the most was Guiding Themes of the Constitution. The U.S. Constitution is a document that provides the basic framework or structure for the American government. The Constitution is a short document with six important guiding themes. The six themes are Popular Sovereignty, Limited Government, Separation of Power, Check and Balance, Judicial Review and Federalism. Popular Sovereignty says that the power should not reside with the government or its leaders but with the people. Limited Government is power that the people have give the government to do something. Separation of Power is the principle based on Montesquieu ideas, which divided the power into three branches, the Executive where the president and his cabinet, the Legislature where congress and the house of representatives are, and lastly Judicial the Supreme Court. Check and Balance is for each brach to check up on each other. Federalism is where the power is divided into tw...
